Wanted: Sofa and armchairs that can fit through narrow doorway for Peckham Sponsors Refugees

Hi there

We are looking for two sofas and some easy chairs for the Peckham Sponsors Refugees house. They can be pretty much any style/colour but they need to be in reasonable condition and have the fire safety certificate.

As the doorways and stairs are tight they can?t be too large ? the maximum would be 1m across (so width and diagonal from top back to bottom front). A two seater sofa could work if wasn?t too deep but probably not a three seater. Something where the legs come off could also work, as would a modular design.

The upstairs sitting room is a large room, and it could take lots of easy chairs if we can?t get a suitable sofa.

  Suppose we'll just have to pay a bit more tax. The French have and now half the country looks and runs like Switzerland. Or shall we just keep on chasing this stupid myth that we should expect Scandinavian style public services whilst paying American style taxes?
