St Christopher?s Hospice are delighted to tell you that, after a two-year hiatus, Bluebell Walk is BACK!

With the date set for Sunday 1 May 2022 at Cudham Recreation Ground, we?re hoping you?ll all be able to join us and enjoy the beautiful bluebells, ancient trees and rare birds at this educational and fun event.

Seasoned walkers will notice the new addition of tour guides along the way, ready and waiting to tell you fun facts about the flora and fauna you?re wandering within, and for the hardy amongst you, a new 8 mile route will test your endurance! For everyone else, our accessible 4 mile route has been specially designed with families in mind.

Back at Cudham, we?ll be waiting for you with home-made refreshments, entertainment for children and adults as well as a very special bluebell themed art installation ? so dig out your cameras, dust off your walking boots, gather your friends and enjoy a full day out in the beautiful countryside!

Spaces are limited so don?t delay and sign up today! You can secure your place at www.stchristophers.org.uk/bluebellwalk Tickets are priced at ?25 for a single person, ?40 for two people, or ?50 for up to 5 people*. We know that many of you will wish to raise additional money for the hospice through sponsorship so we can be there for people in the community when they need us most. This is by no means mandatory ? you can simply select whether you?d like to receive a fundraising pack or not when you sign up.

*All fees will be refundable, should the event need to be postponed or cancelled for any reason.

    • PCSOs may not need specific qualifications, but they go through a reasonably rigorous recruitment process. Or at least they used to. It may have changed.
    • The ones I've dropped into may be organised by PCSOs in the SNT but regular PCs have attended. They have actually been a cuppa with a copper, but not necessarily loads of them.
    • @Pereira Neves "Cuppa with a Coppa" is a misrepresentation as PCSOs are not real police.   They have no more powers of arrest that any public citizen. They may have the "authority" to advise the regular police of a crime - just like Joe Public. One exception is that they can issue fixed penalty notices to people who cycle on a footpath. We see people cycling on the footpath every day but have never seen a PCSO issue a fixed penalty notice to anybody. No  qualifications are needed to become a PCSO.  At best, all they do is reassure and advise the public with platitudes.
    • Right.  Already too many people saying “labour pushed for longer and more stringent lockdowns” which if nothing else, does seem to give credence the notion that yes people can be brainwashed    Nothing ...  Nothing Labour pushed for was about longer lockdowns.  Explicitly, and very clearly they said “lock down early OR we will be locking down for longer “   ie they were trying to prevent the longer lockdowns we had   But “positive thinking” and “nothing to see here” from Johnson led to bigger problems    as for the hand-wavery about the economic inheritance and markets being spooked by labour budget - look - things did get really really and under last government and they tried to hide it.  So when someone tries to address it, no one is going to be happy.  But pretending all was tickety boo is a child’s response
