Hi everyone!

I am a 26 year old Nanny living in Lewisham/Blackheath looking for a lovely family needing help anytime on Mondays - Wednesdays. I also work with a gorgeous 2 year old Thursdays and Fridays & both I and her family are more than happy to discuss nanny share options if your family are looking for more days a week.

A bit about me: I have over 5 years of experience in childcare, grew up in South-East London so know lots about the area- and am confident working with and catering for the many physical and emotional needs of young babies as well as children of all ages. I've worked as a nanny and live-in Au Pair; in London, France, as well as teaching English in Italy. More recently I worked as a nanny for two families, with 2 babies- 1.5 years old. Am happy to provide references. I love being silly and getting creative with kids, doing lots of art, storytelling, trips to the park, singing etc.

I am fully DBS checked, and have my paediatric first aid certificate. I am musically trained, have got my Grade 8 and Grade 6 on piano and trumpet, & write & perform music on the side, and enjoy incorporating music into my care duties in whatever way you see fit, as I strongly believe that music is a brilliant tool for life, and a way of creatively enhancing the worlds of children of all ages, and their development as human beings.

I am available of course for ad hoc babysits, and would be happy to start as early as mid-sept 2021.

Please feel free to contact me on here, or via email/phone to meet in person for a CV or referees; my email is [email protected] and my telephone number is 07535784764 if you require any further information.

Best wishes & hope to hear from you soon,

Bridget

Hi Bridget,

We are a family with three children (the oldest is nearly 5, the youngest 6 months) living in Camberwell and looking for a nanny to start in May this year. We really liked your profile, but ideally we'd need a nanny full time - could you let me know if your availability changes at all?

Thanks!

Maria

    • Yesterday I watched a pair of crows in a sycamore tree at the end of our garden  and they were pecking at the branches. After some time I noticed they were removing the bark. They were taking the bark off in strips. When one of them got a length of about six inches he/she would fly off and return later.  Short pieces would be discarded until a decent length was stripped off.  I raised the topic with ChatGPT and it confirmed that crows prefer pliable strips of bark for use in building their nests. They seemingly are quite particular about the flexibility of the strips and use these to intertwine with twigs and grass stems to make their nests.
    • @Sue Good to know acoustic glazing makes a difference!
    • That must have done wonders for the TV reception! I once watched a pair of birds, can't remember what they were, don't think they were pigeons, dismantling an old nest twig by twig and rebuilding it a few trees down 🤣 I suppose it was a handy source of sticks, but it seemed rather pointless given there was a nest already there. Maybe it was in poor condition or something?
    • I think probably any area round here will get the plane noise. I'm not sure any level of glazing will entirely shut it out. I have acoustic glass in my bedroom which I was told was what was used in Heathrow offices, but I can still hear planes through it, albeit faintly. That wasn't why I got it though. I was constantly being woken by my neighbours' boiler going on and off all through the  night. I think there was something wrong with it. It doesn't happen any more. As regards coming home at night, as with anywhere in London (or indeed most places, I guess!), it's preferable to stick to well lit roads with a few people around, where possible.
