Looking for a Nanny (RIE/Pikler/Steiner/Montessori)

Recommended Posts

Hi,

My husband and I are looking for someone calm and kind to look after our 2 year old 3 days a week (Tues-Thurs, 8-6pm ish, 30 hours a week). The role also involves school pick up/drop off for our 4 year old who is at Edmund Waller primary school, and spending time with them both, preparing meals etc after school and in some of the holidays.

Driver would be a bonus but not essential.

My eldest loves drawing, music and listening to stories. At the moment he is interested in space, the ocean and nature.

My youngest loves puddles, sand and machinery.

The both love music, cooking, gardening and reading stories.

We are an outdoorsy family.

RIE philosophy (Janet Lansbury/Magda Gerber) is central to how we try and do things - so we?re looking for someone who is familiar with this approach or has a keen interest in furthering their knowledge in respectful care approaches.

We are also interested in other alternative models of education and parenting such as Montessori, Waldorf/Steiner, Forest School, Aware parenting, the Pikler approach. So would welcome applications from anyone who has experience in these areas.

Please get in touch if you'd like to find out more and to see if we might be a good fit.

Thank you!

    • If you're thinking about a newborn or family photoshoot this spring, I have one weekend slot left (either 25 or 26 April) for Dulwich families only.  Who am I? I'm a local photographer, specialising in reportage-style family photography. I work with modern families who value authentic, meaningful photographs but feel uneasy about posing or staging. Through my relaxed home photoshoots, I capture the beauty of everyday family life, creating timeless images that are deeply personal and uniquely yours. For the last two years, I’ve been ranked among the top 10 documentary family photographers in the UK. My work has been featured in Vogue and Grazia. • Nah, the lines are applied hot and cool down quickly so the trucker didnt have to wait more than 5 minutes. The good news is that the owner drove the car away around 5pm without a ticket.
    • East Dulwich Grove is currently closed to a Thames Water leak also, with diversions for the 37 and 42.
    • There is a small tabby cat which seems quite distressed and lost behind the bins outside the back yard of Superdrug at the Lordship Lane end of North Cross Road. It is terrified, running in and out of Superdrug’s back yard and across the road and back again, and looks as if it could be pregnant. It is also starving – a passer was feeding it. We weren’t able to catch it as it was too scared. Did ask the Neighbourhood Vet if anyone has reported a missing cat, but they said not.
