we have had a number of posts regarding cycling in London - and many come with observations about how agressive drivers can be. Well I cycle and I drive, and just wanted to say how much I love driving in London. I love driving up through the West End or down to work (in Bromley). I feel dead awkward when I get into one of those conversations where someone bemoans how all the drivers on the road are rude and aggressive. To my mind most drivers stick to the basic rules and whilst there are a few jerkoff ones there are many more courteous drivers.

And then there are those (like me) who sometimes stick to the basic rules and at other times, when the mood takes me, behaves like a jerkoff on 2 or 4 wheels. Sometimes I can be driving like an angel and then somebody elses driving can inspire me to be a git (apologies to the nob that got dragged down Morden High St).
I hate some drivers but what annoys me most is when you are polite enough to let someone take a turn and you don't block their way or let someone out when you could easily pretend not to notice them. I don't wish to open a can of worms but I find that certain people won't acknowledge you have done them a favour. Is it me or is it that I am white? Administrator please delete this if you find it offensive! I came from a background where there was no such thing as racism. What the hell is it?

I love driving but not particularly in London. I wouldn?t really call what we do in London driving. It?s more like waiting in a car.

I?m always nice to bikes and not prone to losing it on the road at all. I do however seem to suffer from commuter rage on the trains and busses though. The amount of times I want to start dishing out smacks around the head to people for being idiots while walking down Victoria street or getting the bus on LL.

As one of those who criticised ED drivers in another thread, I feel I have to defend myself! I like driving, walking and riding horses as well as cycling, but whichever I'm doing I pretty much stick to the rules of the road and try to avoid mowing down other people.

Part of the problem with pedestrians is that some - W Dulwich particularly bad at this - seem to assume if there is any traffic coming, it's bound to have an engine and they'll hear it.

I love driving. I particularly enjoy sitting in my parked capacious and luxurious Audi Q7 on Saturdays outside William Rose, drinking a super cafe latte from Nero's, while the au pair queues outside in the pelting hail stones (sigh)...

NOTE TO SELF: Buy a vinyl re-usable shopping bags, the others let water in and spoil my groceries.
