any old iron?

Does anybody locally pick up unwanted household items for scrap?

I have an iron, a toaster, a few old oven trays etc that I need to get rid of. The toaster still works in a temperamental way, the iron doesn't.

Any info welcomed on how to get rid.

Take them to the local council dump..
