We're looking to buy a new lightweight toddler pushchair. We've narrowed it down to this two, having been given an extremely ancient Triumph that our daughter loves but is very much on its last legs.

Apart from the Triumph's ability to recline, is there anything that justifies the higher price for the Triumph? Any experiences of either pram welcome.

I use an old volo and think it is great. If I am going out by myself on public transport, especially when i know there will be steps, I take the volo without extras eg. no hood/raincover (weather permitting), so I can sling it over one shoulder and carry baby in the other arm, or if the child is slightly older you could get them to walk the steps holding their hand. Also, on Southeastern trains the volo fits on the overhead luggage rack. Without extras attached it is just 3.6kg I think. It is a great buggy, I am sure the truimph is too, just depends if you really want the recline.
I would say it depends on what you are using the pushchair for, if it is going to be your only or main push chair then I am not sure the volo is the best option, it is a bit too lightweight, small wheels, quite low to push. I agree it is brilliant if you are going in to London for the day, taking to the airport or chucking in the back of the car but for going on a longer walk or taking over slightly uneven ground it is pretty useless. We have also had the quest which I think is a better option for when they are a bit bigger, easy enough to commute with but a bit more sturdy, easier to push and suitable for a slightly bigger child, our eldest got too big for the volo when she was quite young, though she is pretty big for her age.

Interesting replies, thanks.

My daughter is a tall 22 month old. We're having another baby in two months. We have a Bee Plus which I love but my daughter seems to hate now. The straps are definitely too short. She is much happier in a Maclaren. I was thinking I'd use a sling plus the buggy and just use the Bee for the baby when I was without the toddler.

I would not have been comfortable pushing the volo with a baby in a sling as I did feel it was quite low and not that easy to push, and if you think your daughter is tall then I think the volo would have quite a short life, our daughter was too big for it before she was 2 and a half, we could still put her in but she wasn't very comfortable and it was not easy to move. But the sling and buggy option I agree is a good plan, she will be out of a buggy so soon that a double is a waste of money. Maybe spend the next 2 months getting her to practise on her scooter.

    • Thanks…..still convinced I can get my rent back - not vindictive person but no one treats me this way & gets away with it. Will teach them a good lesson if they get a fine - well two really - much rater have rent back. Yes, will be taking pix - already have one for mould in bedroom - now removed.
    • Take your own meter readings and properly document the condition of the property when you leave. The LL won’t have a case to claim against your deposit without a sign in inventory. Not having an EPC is largely irrelevant- if you report him he might get a fine but you are unlikely to get compensation.
    • Thank you both. Inexperience Landlord trying to save  a few pennies - hence no agent involved. The issue is the fact that it is my understanding that without an EPC that is current then they should not have rented the property - far  more to the point and taken rent from me. They commissioned an EPC 4 weeks & I am still waiting for or a copy!!! No gas in property. Well I guess it will be a case of instructing solicitors which I have tried to avoid doing but as they are not responding at all, I have no choice. If I am correct about EPC then it will cost them alot more than refunding me my rent.
    • Went there a couple of weeks ago and had their set lunch menu - very good value and generous portions. Sea bream was delicious .
