uncleglen
I've been reliably informed that 'Boy' at the Young Vic is very good, and a bit off the wall Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3019-theatre-anything-on-worth-seeing/page/10/#findComment-686490 Share on other sites
Nigello
"Handbagged" at the Tricycle Theatre is very good, especially if you're remotely interested in politics and/or the '80s. You can get there on the Jubilee Line very easily from London Bridge or on the Bakerloo Line. Top tickets are ?26 but the single seats on the balcony at the sides are very good value at around half that price. Ladygooner
I can highly recommend The Full Monty which I saw last night. Very entertaining! Millhaven
I went to see 'Ghost Stories' 3 years ago. It is so good I haven't been to the theatre since to see anything else. giggirl
Let The Right One In, which I saw at the Royal Court before Christmas and is transferring to the West End. I can recommend it highly but it is scary.I saw 1984 at the Almeida last week. Very well done but a bit grim (obviously).Next week me and Hibbs are going to see the lovely and talented Lesley Sharp in A Taste of Honey. It is getting good reviews. giggirl
Yes, very well done at the Royal Court. Outstanding. If you book your tickets for the West End play via the Royal Court, you get a better deal. Mick Mac
Saw The Weir a couple of weeks ago. It was very good, featuring Dervla Kirwan, Ardal O Hanlon Brian Cox. Not quite as mesmeric as the reviews perhaps but def worth seeing. Assume it was reviewed when at Donmar, and it hasn't travelled well. Mick Mac
I have tickets for Skylight with Bill Nighy and Carey Mulligan for later this month - very exciting as great reviews. Saw Fathers and Sons at the Donmar a couple of weeks ago - that was good. Millhaven
Last month I went to see Alan Ayckbourn's 'A Small Family Business' and was very lucky to get to a dress rehearsal of 'Great Britain' starring Robert Glenister and (don't laugh) Billie Piper and I have to say the latter former pop star was surprisingly good. As were most of the cast to be fair. PeckhamRose
Billie Piper is a very natural actor.Meanwhile, if you're after something classy in the Fringe, I can recommend Flowers Of The Field at the White Bear, by Kevin Mandry. Those of you from Sussex area might particular be interested but it is a very sweet poignant play. Finishes this Sunday I think. shebe
Greenwich Theatre is currently showing three LAMDA final year productions (until Tuesday 15th). Talented young actors, an interesting mix of plays (take your pick from Tennessee Williams, Martin Crimp or Stella Feehily via George Farquhar) and very reasonable ticket prices - what's not to like?www.greenwichtheatre.org.uk Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3019-theatre-anything-on-worth-seeing/page/10/#findComment-764102 Share on other sites

Millhaven
Forgot to mention I also went to see 'Mr Burns' at the Almeida. Wasn't too keen on the third act but was still a thought provoking piece of theatre.http://www.almeida.co.uk/event/mrburns Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/3019-theatre-anything-on-worth-seeing/page/10/#findComment-764296 Share on other sites
