Hello family roomers

I was wondering if any of you have children at St John's & St Clement's, and if so, how close to school do you live? I'd like to apply for a non-church place for my son, but we live about 600 metres from the school. Is it worth applying or do we not stand a chance? Apparently there won't be a bulge class for the next few years.

Thanks for any advice you can give me!

We live about 500m from the school and my children go there, on non church places (although my son got in over 6 years ago and so my other children have sibling places).I'd just say go for it. You have nothing to lose. Its impossible to tell year to year so if its your top choce just put it top of your list. If you don't get it you can wait on the waiting list until something comes up.

Hope that helps.

You've got to be 'in it to win it' if you don't apply you will never know unless you have 6 other schools you are dead set on.

Definitely worth having a try.

Mine go there on non-church places but I'm not sure how many metres away we are (guessing approx 200m). Like frimleyg my eldest started prior to the current pressure on school places.

I would say though there are lots of siblings coming through who will be ahead of new non-church children on the criteria list :(

I live really close to the school (about 3 houses away) but I can definitely say that it's still worth applying from estimating where my Son's friends live. You have to try these things anyway! But I've always been really happy with the school, the Teachers I've come across have always been great and supportive and the atmosphere within the classes has also always been really nice with the children playing nicely together.
