Recommendation for multi-trade 'handyman plus' team

Recommended Posts

As I live by the recommendations on this forum I thought I'd add one of my own - for Al's Handyman team who were advertising on the forum a while back.

They're more than a handyman set up really - I think they also do big renovation projects but have started the handyman service alongside their existing work, so it's one main guy Al who coordinates all of his different tradespeople, which is a godsend if you have fiddly jobs requiring multiple trades like we did - electrics, plumbing, plastering, decorating, carpentry.

Anyway, Al is brilliant to deal with and all of his team have been great, the whole thing has run really smoothly and I think their prices are really reasonable. They went out of their way to fit in with my schedules, and fit in around another project which was happening in the house at the same time. I was particularly impressed with their decorator who was absolutely meticulous and achieved a finish that even I was happy with!

He's on the forum as 'bigal' or email [email protected]

We too can recommend Al's team. They did exactly what we wanted with no fuss and were punctual and clean. Again they fitted in around us and were quick to start at a reasonable price.

We are glad that we went with a previous recommendation from this site for Al and we will be using the team in the future.

Very happy to add my name to this list. Al and his team completed a couple of small jobs for me at the end of last summer and then returned for a larger list (removal and replacing of drylining, replastering, exterior repointing, installation of ceiling roses among them) earlier this year. Not only are he and his team fantastic to deal with, they are very much "can-do" people.

    • All good to hear. Cheers BNG If I’m honest, those fliers give off very bland corporate energy   also. Shouldn’t it be a relaunch party instead of a launch party?    hopefully I’m wrong and it’s great
    • The good news is that the Blythe's new leaseholder is Austin Whelan, who runs a chain of very decent Irish pubs, mainly in south London. By all accounts, he has no intention of making any major changes. It reopened last week.
    • A builder said that to me once! What I should have said (but thought of it too late) was that given that I was paying him to do a job, I expected that my glass would be full, not half full 🤣 But yes, you are right in this instance!
    • Just had a flyer through the door. Posting here for people who haven't had theirs yet. The 50% off food is for three days only, and advance bookings only. I liked the EDT as it used to be, so I really hope the changes won't be too massive. Last time I looked through the window the bar seemed to be still in the same place, but who knows. Think I'll wait a bit to try the food. When The Lordship launched, we went for a meal there and let's say things didn't go smoothly 😂 Anybody who was there will know what I mean 😂 They have redeemed themselves since, I hasten to add 😂
