Do check Peter Ward?s YT videos on damp.

He demonstrates how most ?damp? is actually condensation, created BY damp ?specialists? own work, or caused by builders. But the damp wallys (his words) say it?s damp and charge to inject/drill/replaster unnecessarily.

Could not agree more.Usually is condensation especially in conversions due to lack of ventilation.

And most basements? wet issues are due to ventilation having been closed-off over the years.

But you?ll pay ?1000?s for a damp specialist to tank the basement 🙄

I suppose, from a business perspective, saying ?just remove those bricks from where the ventilation shaft used to be?, is not a bread-winning strategy.
