The Minkey
There's a proposal to create a pathway along the entire length of Brenchley Gardens. I'm not wild about the idea because I enjoy the illusion of being off-track. Interested to hear what others think about it. lameduck
that is a very pleasant walk along the old railway bedat the back of the gardens, and I agree you do feel off track, mind you wet weather it is inclined to be slippery. That is left open at night. Would not fancy walking it in the dark.Have you tried walking through Nunhead Cemetery, that also feels off track. Marmora Man
Don't do it - manicured walks are far less fun. The Minkey
Sure it gets muddy, that's part and parcel of the off-track feeling imo. Part of the charm about that little stretch is that there is no pathway other than that which has been beaten by the feet of the people who walk it. I share your feeling about manicured walks MM.
