Helen GV
We're planning a trip for a week or so, would like to visit the highlands with the kids 4.5 and 2.5, hubby is keen on a bothy but I'm wondering if anyone has suggestions for something that might be a bit warmer, not too expensive, near a loch, that won't require outdoor cooking? I'm a bit of a wimp when it comes to the cold... Thanks :0) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/29581-highlands-in-april/ Share on other sites
cupatea
Have a look at the Scottish Youth Hostels websitewww.syha.org.ukThey have hostels with family rooms in some beautiful areas of Scotland. If you want to go up a notch my family and I stayed at a lovely hotel on Loch Awe a couple of years ago called, I think, Portsonachon Lodge. It's right on the loch side. Belle
I think some bothies are quite luxurious now, or so my mum tells me! Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/29581-highlands-in-april/#findComment-620396 Share on other sites
nunheadmum
We went here a couple of years ago:http://www.cologin.co.uk/Got a pub on the site which helped a lot! Not by a lake but lots of water in the surrounding area.
