HannahSE23
Shannon's garden centre in SE23 is great. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/29499-good-plant-nursery-in-se-londonkent/#findComment-619729 Share on other sites
Whittler
I second the recommendation for Shannons in Forest Hill (http://www.shannonsgardencentre.co.uk/1112.html) i've been using them for years and they are great, and also Alexandra Nurseries (http://www.alexandranurseries.co.uk/) which is in Penge so a bit further away for you, but run by professional gardeners and well worth a visit! catgirl
Coolings is meant to be amazing - not been myself but a few different people I know who are very keen gardeners swear by it.http://www.coolings.co.uk/ Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/29499-good-plant-nursery-in-se-londonkent/#findComment-619744 Share on other sites
edcam
Catgirl is correct. Coolings is absolutely brilliant. Hands down the best nursery in the South East. It's worth the drive (around 30-40 mins from ED - quicker in the week.) DBH
we love the Alleyns Garden centre in West Dulwich, just off Alleyn Park Rd...It's not a massive centre, but think they can source plants for you if you ask. They are super helpful and know their plants..Karen is particularly lovely and always gives good advice, their plants are great quality too. Sue
Not local, but I have always had absolutely excellent plants and service from Crocus, a mail order company. They seem to be quite selective in the varieties they stock, so somebody else has weeded out (sorry) the dross for you first :)http://www.crocus.co.uk Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/29499-good-plant-nursery-in-se-londonkent/#findComment-619831 Share on other sites
wello
West Dulwich garden centre (behind the station) has won a few awards through RHS, top quality flowers and plants sourced and always really helpful. I'm impressed!Hmm. I don't think they do. they give awards to plants but I don't think they give them to garden centres per se. So the award would be for the producer, rather than the garden centre. Some big garden centres do produce their own plants though. Sue
Yes, that's what I thought. The RHS Award of Garden Merit. It's the plant itself which gets the award, not the producer. Most garden centres will stock at least some plants which have it, I would think.http://www.rhs.org.uk/Plants/Plant-trials-and-awards/Plant-awards/Award-of-Garden-Merit-%28AGM%29 Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/29499-good-plant-nursery-in-se-londonkent/#findComment-620204 Share on other sites
