I'm a fully qualified (with QTS) English teacher and have over 15 years' experience. I've taught in London schools for ages 11-18, and was in charge of KS3 English. These days, I'm concentrating on tutoring 1-1 and small groups.

Whether you are looking for support, challenge, catch-up, exam preparation or home schooling for your child, I can help.

I have experience teaching from Year 1 - Year 13, the English National Curriculum, various GCSE and iGCSE exam boards and A-level. (Not 11+)

I am friendly, patient and encouraging and always form a good relationship with my students. I carefully plan individualised lessons that will help my students to make progress and achieve their goals. I have also had lesson materials for teachers and pupils published commercially.

If you would like to discuss your requirements, or ask for more information (eg, references, qualifications, criminal background check) then don't hesitate to get in touch.

Thanks to those who have been in touch.

My current tutees are enjoying a well-earned Christmas rest, so I have some time available for any GCSE Lang/Lit students who need help preparing for January mocks.

If the public exams are cancelled (again) it will be mocks that will be used to determine your final grades, as per recent DfE announcements.

Contact me if you want to talk about a one-off lesson, or a short sequence of sessions, over the Christmas break.

    • Was meeting a friend for lunch today in ED and thought I’d make a quick visit to the Poundland beforehand as my usual store I visited closed down in Camberwell last year. As soon as I entered was confronted by very loud beat music blaring away (couldn’t wait to get out) and no staff around to serve on the till. The 3 self service tills were all closed so had to wait over 5 minutes to pay. Just hope they can up their game as they have a prime position in ED.
    • Oh no! Poor thing I’d contact Celia Hammond if I were you. I’m out all day tomorrow else I would have come to help. Keep us posted if you can. Thank you.
    • Only way to circumnavigate around TW's attempt at isolating those south of Piermont Green, i'd suggest are making use of the P12 or P13.  Unfortunately no indication as too how long the three different "bursts" will take to be repaired and the obvious inconvenience it causes.
    • To be fair, my understanding (which may well be wrong) is that the whole of the London water system consists of antiquated Victorian pipes, and the whole lot needs replacing. Because of the enormous potential  cost of doing that,  it just gets patched up as and when. The other factor, of course, is that it should never have been privatised.
