K4ti
Hello,I started a post like this previously for wedding venues and we think we have found our reception venue here in ED but are currently struggling to find a ceremony venue. We need somewhere that will hold 80 peopleWe need a Saturday hireI've looked at Beauberry house but they don't accept bookings for ceremony only until 3 months before your chosen date which is just cutting to too fine. From what I can find Southwark registry office only seats 40. I think Marylebone is too far away to make everyone travel in Saturday traffic (reception in ED). Horniman is lovely but only do Friday and very pricey!! Does anyone else have any ideas??? We are getting married in winter so venues seem more interested in ceremony only hire I just can't find one that ticks the above boxes. Thanks a lot Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/29468-marriage-ceremony-venues/ Share on other sites
JDR
Try dulwich college, they have the library for civil ceremony's and when we did ours would just hold the ceremony.... MrsAk
I also recommend Dulwich college old library which is where we got married. You hire it for a couple of hours and then have to pay for the registrar to come out. I think it holds about 100 people. Good luck with your search! jennyh
Another vote for dulwich college? Had the old library, a 2 hour slot is the most basic option so enough time to decorate and a little hanging around after to get people in cars and maybe take a few snaps. They were lovely to deal with. But it's not cheap in my opinion. Mrspushkin
We had our ceremony in Marylebone and the reception in ED. Hired a Routemaster to ferry our guests between the two, which was great fun! The staff at Marylebone are lovely and it's great for photos.
