I do not live in the Marmora catchment area but did have the same problem about two years ago. Someone repeatedly allowing their dog to foul practically outside the gate, Myself, my children, husband, bikes were all victims. I eventually rang the council who told me that there was a dedicated pooper scooper number which I rang everytime the poo arrived. They dutifully came and scooped ....the problem miraculously disappeared after a concentrated three week campaign. Ring the council and ask if this service still exists. I fortunately have not had the problem since. But then I live in Nunhead!

I live on a path the leads a few yards off the main road to my gate. Last summer there was a guy who would walk his dog down off the main road onto my path almost every morning to let it relieve itself. He probably thought this was better than letting it foul the main pavement but as it was outside my garden gate I was not too pleased. So what I did was just go out one morning and stand at the gate. As he came down I gave him a smile and a nod and stood watching him. He looked uncomfortable for few moments and then buggered off. I haven?t seen him since.

Having said that I went out this morning and there was an unspeakable pile heap next to the bins. I may give this poo hotline that the council have a call.

Sing to the tune of Ghostbusters:

If there's somethin' brown in your neighborhood

Who ya gonna call (Poobusters)

If it's somethin' that, looks like a Walnut Whip

Who ya gonna call (Poobusters)

I ain't afraid a no shite

I ain't afraid a no turds

If you're steppin' on poo, on Marmora Road,

Who can you call (Poobusters)

Ruined yer shoes on Rover's load,

Oh who ya gonna call (Poobusters)

I ain't afraid a no shite

I ain't afraid a no turds

    • Couldn't agree more with the recommendations for Greg and Raven Plumbing & Heating. Swift and accurate communications, speedy diagnosis of the issue with our ancient boiler, and a well-priced solution identified and put in place. All topped by friendly and helpful face-to-face interactions with Greg and his team. Thanks again, guys!
    • Not sure if this has already been posted, but players are needed for a league that is being put on by Go Mammoth. Players can sign up as a team or individuals for a Men's Monday Nights or a Mixed Tuesday Nights league. It's on a new indoor pitch apparently. https://www.gomammoth.co.uk/5-a-side-football/dulwich-north/?leagueid=2374
    • That sounds like a good addition to Lordship Lane. Good luck to them!
    • I would have agreed, but the pub which was there previously seemed to do alright? It might work the other way round, that if a pub was there the nearby businesses (eg the plant/flower  shop) might actually get more custom? Admittedly that bar which was briefly on the corner of Melford (?) Road didn't do very well, but I think that was for different reasons.
