PIP Brainexplorer
Hello everybody! I am a researcher based at King's College London (based at the IoPPN at Denmark Hill). I work on the Preschool Brain Imaging and Behaviour Project (PIP), the first Europe-wide study on brain development in pre-schoolers. we are currently looking for young volunteers! For this study we are recruiting young children with and without neurodevelopmental conditions. In particular: - Children without neurodevelopmental conditions (between 2.5-4.5 years); and/or- Autistic children (between 3-4.5 years), and/or - Children with ADHD (between 4-5.5 years), and/or - Children with developmental delay (between 3-4.5 years), and/or - Children with epilepsy (between 3-4.5 years). We hope that in the future our research will help with earlier diagnosis and improved support that would improve outcomes for children and young people with different neurodevelopmental conditions. Due to COVID-19, for Part One of the study we are currently running remote assessments only. These include online questionnaires and interviews for parents/carers to complete at home, and tablet/smartphone games for children to play. We are offering participants a ?25 gift voucher for completing the remote assessments as compensation for their time and energy. If participants give us permission to contact them again in future, we will then ask if they are interested in visiting us at King?s College London for Part Two of the study (once more COVID-19 restrictions lift). This visit will include some touchscreen tasks, interactive games, some EEG and eye-tracking and an MRI brain scan. If participants decide to take part in the second part of the study, they will receive a ?50 gift voucher for each in-person visit as compensation.
