There are loads of remote apps that work with almost all DVDs. That is what we did when we lost our remote control :)

We used [universal DVD remote] but I actually think there are Sony-specific ones.

How do remote Apps work with old school infra red remote controlled DVD players?

It looks like remote control Apps only work for smart (internet connected) devices, with some allowing DVD control via a smart TV connected with HDMI smart link to a DVD player.

Am I missing something?
