Looking for a hard working labourer, in the next couple of weeks.

1) Break up fallen over flower bed wall (about 9ft long) at rear of back garden (5 brick courses)

2) Clear all debris and remove to front garden in waste sacks

3) Expose original footings of fallen over wall

4) Dig back 9in of soil from front of fallen over flower bed wall

Probably 2 - 3 hours work at ?10/hour.

If interested and experienced (no cowboys) please PM me.

Well thanks for that unwarranted comment. It seems my post is not the only one you like to critique.

I don't need a builder (I plan to re-build it myself) I just need a labourer to break up the low 5 course wall that's fallen over on the path pretty much as I described. It's a straightforward break it up with a sledge hammer, then a club hammer and bolster to break it down further. It's five courses high so very low level, and dig back about 9in of the soil, and I'll happily supply the tools.

If I could, I would, but I can't do the labouring myself right now.

And Finally if I need a handyman, I 'll know who NOT to engage.

    • They'll look fine when they grow back in the spring.  The trees that should be removed are the female gingko biloba trees that are randomly dotted about the area. These produce hundreds of fruit that contain the putrid smelling butyric acid (the same chemical that is found in vomit and rancid butter).  The smell of these tress is absolutely vile and it lingers for months on end every year. There's one at the North Cross Road end of Ulverscroft road and it's huge and stinky.   I think they should be considered a public health hazard and should all be cut down.
    • I saw these 2 up by jade last week. Same thing 1 was walking on the pavement not bothered by people.the other one flying around
    • Another recommendation for Andy - he came to our home recently to make some repairs for general maintenance that needed doing. He helped us fix plumbing jobs & installed a washing machine. He also fixed a leak on a downpipe. He also hung up some pictures for us / put up some shelves & helped fix a door that was sticking.  We have used Andy for years so if you are looking for a decent / honest handyman, give Andy a call - he's our go to & a wealth of knowledge - 07564 194363
