recommending my Personal trainer

high time to give credit where its due-I've been training with Tracy from Dulwich leisure centre for almost 2 years having previously attended fitness classes she did there I decided to overcome my fear and financial concerns about booking 1-2-1 training and booked a block of 4 half hourly sessions with her.

It honestly has changed my attitude to the way I feel about my body (as a 60 + year old woman) as well as making me fitter more toned and confident in the gym using weights and machines I never would have dreamt of using.

I came to her having had lots of surgery and various knee and back issues and she has been an absolute gem.

Even during the long months of the various lockdowns texting me regularly and giving me exercises I could do at home which made a massive difference to my mental health and wellbeing- (this was for no charge just because she genuinely cares)

Now the gym's are reopened I'm keeping it up doing a session every few weeks with tracy still regularly checking in via text to see how I'm progressing between our sessions

She doesn't know I'm posting this but I really wanted to sing her praises, she's gentle caring and great at what she does.

You can book her through Dulwich leisure centre and the cost is very reasonable and well worth it.

    • I see their website has it as https://www.royalmail.com/services-near-you/delivery-office/peckham-and-east-dulwich-delivery-office-se15-5au, though I wouldn't be at all surprised if they're also distinct administrative or operational entities for some purposes.  I note, for example, that Peckham (SE15) isn't on the list.
    • A reminder of the current situation. Covid-19 Eligibility: https://www.nhs.uk/vaccinations/covid-19-vaccine/ Availability: NHS are no longer running their own appointment-making system. This winter's version is still available from pharmacies until 31 January.   They may have individual availability times, see:  https://www.nhs.uk/service-search/pharmacy/find-a-pharmacy-offering-walk-in-COVID-19-vaccination-services Flu Flu vaccinations (65+, pregnant, higher risk, or private) are available from some pharmacies.  See https://www.nhs.uk/service-search/pharmacy/find-a-pharmacy-that-offers-free-flu-vaccination for details of eligibility and a link to a pharmacy finder. Some may offer appointments: you may have to dig down into their individual listing. RSV Currently eligible/recommended: If pregnant (at 28+ weeks), or age 75-79, or became 80 on or after 1 Sept 2024. This has been available from GP practices.  I was offered one by text.  When I responded a week later they didn't have any available but gave me one by appointment three weeks later. https://www.nhs.uk/vaccinations/rsv-vaccine/ Other vaccines https://www.nhs.uk/vaccinations/
    • I get that they're being pollarded. This estate was built in the 60's and so I'm guessing that they're around 60 years old.  Nothing wrong with that but even when they re-grow they're hardly going to be the most attractive. Y'know just musing on improving the look of our public spaces.
    • Pretty repetitive on the transport section.  I like a good discussion and this does raise wider issues.  I miss banks more than post office branches which tend to be part of other stores.  A few other threads on the Lounge, come on over.  Or 🐕 💩
