Latest update on Dulwich Windows Ltd. Please residents of East Dulwich or anywhere else DO NOT USE this company. Dulwich Windows is now trading under JWJ Ltd. The info below was retrieved from Companies House - basically means company is being shut down.

DULWICH WINDOWS LTD

No:07892253

Status: Active - Proposal to Strike off

Latest update they have relocated to 338 Lordship Lane, Dulwich, London, SE22 8LZ under the name Dulwich Windows, Trading as JWJ Ltd. This is Jayson Webb's 5th company in as many years with all the other companies following the same route as the 4th.
Just found out there is nothing to stop these companies re-applying for membership to companies like FENSA (under a new name).Even though FENSA are aware what these companies are doing they are powerless to not accept their membership. Although FENSA website talks about a Insurance Backed Guarantee scheme, it does not actually offer anything to the home owner but instead encourages the installer to take up an Insurance backed scheme. Basically its all a bunch of B.S. So if you have an installer you are prepared to use, other than the normal stuff, References etc, I would also ask for a copy of their Insurance. So in reference to the above question 'What would FENSA do if my windows failed'. The short answer is NOTHING. They are powerless to force the installer to make good the work.

    • Glad to hear that the cops are taking crash for cash seriously.  The situation I am aware of the driver called the police, reported it separately as dangerous motorcycling, avoided all calls from 'ambulance chasers' and subsequently got a letter from the police saying it was an unregistered rider/uninsured rider.  It was reluctantly reported to their insurers who actually did not put up the premium which was a nice surprise. So as stressful as it may be just hold firm, deny everything, take down details and report to the police.
