- Sunday 01/08/2021, 8:40pm/2040hrs, A215 near Herne Hill station: google.co.uk/maps/@51.4540246,-0.1006021,17.96z -

Two mopeds spotted in Herne Hill, both had no licence/registration plates and both had two people on each bike, with both people wearing black clothing, and a total of 3 out of 4 people wearing black bike helmets. Both mopeds were heading south when one moped cut into traffic (stopped at red traffic lights) onto the curb-side of the road and stopped next to a black (Matte-black wrapped) Mercedes G-Wagon. After a few-seconds long encounter, the Mercedes forces its way into the oncoming lane (a crash-like sound is heard) with the mopeds following in pursuit shortly after.

It could, potentially, have been a carjacking. However, the Mercedes' registration plate does not appear to be registered on the DVLA, and the driver was driving in the bus lane (undertaking) earlier up the road. However, there was a lack of sufficient evidence to suggest this was a stolen car, so it may not have been involved with any gang.

    • Labour was right not to increase fuel duty - it's not just motorists it affects, but goods transport. Fuel goes up, inflation goes up. Inflation will go up now anyway, and growth will stagnate, because businesses will pass the employee NIC hikes onto customers.  I think farms should be exempt from the 20% IHT. I don't know any rich famers, only ones who work their fingers to the bone. But it's in their blood and taking that, often multi-generation, legacy out of the family is heart-breaking. Many work to such low yields, and yet they'll often still bring a lamb to the vet, even if the fees are more than the lamb's life (or death) is worth. Food security should be made a top priority in this country. And, even tho the tax is only for farms over £1m, that's probably not much when you add it all up. I think every incentive should be given to young people who want to take up the mantle.
