Hi East Dulwich

I'm a composer and conductor from Bristol recently moved to the area.

I'm currently working with the LMA Orchestra based in central London -

I used to run a small mixed ensemble back in Bristol -

What I'd like to do is get together a relaxed bunch of local / semi-local musicians and work on performing some new work by local and young composers in and around the local area - Churches, Pubs, etc...

I intend to seek out approachable music, that is not too hard to play... I can also get composers to make alterations to works to suit our group.

It would be awesome...! We could probably strike up a relationship with a pub or similar to have a regular 'live' rehearsal somewhere, on a quiet night... also in my experience, an ensemble like that will often get invited to other (community) arts events, and will get invited to work with local students, etcetera... which is all quite good fun.

Get in touch if you have an instrument, can read a little music, and think you could spare one night every two weeks for a get together.

AcedOut - you're on!

Ive had a few PMs about this, quite a good response, but we need more to make it worthwhile!!

So consider this a note of quiet encouragement.

I should emphasise that we'll be able to cater for all levels of reading and playing, so dont be shy.

A fair amount of contemporary composition is graphic and/or improvised anyway, and minimalism is trending at the mo, so its not going to be too much of a challenge to start with.

I put Classically Trained mainly in reference to reading music, but untrained musicians are more than welcome as are non-classical instruments.

Get in touch people!!! We can do something important, rewarding, and fun.
