heath
I've found panther cars to be totally unreliable, nothing as bad as your experience though. I now use East Dulwich Cars exclusively, never had a problem with them. Panther cars final straw for me was them failing to turn up for over 40 minutes on a trip that was booked a week in advance to take 10 people from a wedding ceremony to the reception. They were constantly "2 minutes away". Eventually called another firm (can't remember which) who turned up in 5 minutes. Guest
Be Aware,Loads of their Drivers do NOT even have a minicab Licence/Permit, so someone should notify the Authority and put them out of business, the controllers are also very rude.... Panther operates in between Legality and Illegality...bonnie Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/29-original-post-removed/#findComment-219 Share on other sites
Guest
Panther Cabs left me waiting at Heathrow for an hour this week! I had booked with them the day before to pick me up from a flight. When I picked up my baggage I recieved a call from the driver saying he was only 20 mins away, I then had to wait an hour before he turned up. He blamed it on his controller giving him the job late. To add insult to injury He tried to charge me ?7 more than the cab (from Panther) which dropped me off earlier in the week. Keef
They'r also really expensive. I've just moved up the hill to Sydenham, and Panther try to charge me ?10+ to go home, whereas if I get the Sydenham taxi firm to come down the hill and get me, and take me home, they charge about ?8. Go figure... Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/29-original-post-removed/#findComment-309 Share on other sites
Guest
Yup, they're awful. Last time I ever booked them was to go to the airport. They never turned up. (Luckily I got someone else to get me there just in time to catch the flight.) tomM
> Public transport isn't that great around East> Dulwich and the village. Sometime a cab is> needed, just not Panther any more.Really? I find the transport links excellent - 2 buses to central london (176, 12), 10mins to London Bridge (from East Dulwich train station), or 20mins to Victoria (from Demark Hill). Also the P13 stops inside Sainsburys and services a good portion of Lordship Lane! Ant
I usually take the bus everywhere but there are a few journies that I wouldn't even consider undertaking in anything other than a cab. Two examples: to the airport, and to the hospital on the way to the labour ward. And when friends are leaving our house late at night to go home, especially after a few drinks. Guest
NO I HAVE TO SAY THEY ARE VERY GOOD TO ME. I ALWAYS GET MY CAB ON TIME SO UNLESS YOU ALL DO BOTH THE DRIVERS AND CONTROLLERS SOME THING. PANTHER CARS ARE THE BEST. LINKWAYS AND APT CARS ARE RUBBISH. Guest
No offence Quaywe but it was your fault for not having your eyes on the road, and driving too close to a parked car.. these guys are working long hours driving their cars all over the place for long shifts, maybe a little more understanding from you rather than acting all righteous and demanding telephone and address details off the poor guy.. SimonM
Are you serious?! Or just a Panther Cars infiltrator? As a motorist who does not ride a bike I still know I am 100% responsible for checking it is safe to open my car before doing so. If I hit a cyclist then the fault is entirely mine and he or she is equally entitled to know my details for any insurance claim. Mark
It seems odd that you're able to judge that EDKiwi was justifiably assaulted by the Panther Cars driver. Did you see this incident 'Bree'? I don't think so, I think it's probably that you're a couple of sandwiches short of a toolbox. Guest
I honestly believe Quaywe exaggerates a lot on this message board, and I would say that this cab driver probably opened his door and maybe just brushed EdKIWI and being the campaigning self righteous type that he portays himself to be on here, he probably considerably overreacted, and this poor guy whos been working long long hours was pushed over the edge by Edkiwi's lack of consideration for other people, thats what i believe anyway Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/29-original-post-removed/#findComment-3410 Share on other sites
Guest
and no i am not justifying assault here, i am simply suggesting this Quaywe guy is the sort of person that could annoy anyone and push them over the edge, still no excuse for violence however(and i most certainly am not affiliated with panther cars) Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/29-original-post-removed/#findComment-3411 Share on other sites
Guest
Since using Panther Cars i have nothing but good reports on they're puncutality, fairness in price and generally being pleasant and humourous on most if not all of my journys. So ur the idiot who got assaulted for keying the man's car? Jamie
Sorry but I think they are pretty awful too and East Dulwich Cars or Carriages have always been 100% reliable and with lovely drivers. There is another thread I started on here about Panther cars and I would never use them again either. brash
If the poor driver has been working long hours and can't concentrate on the road and what he is doing. He shouldn't be dog gamn working. snorky
pantha cabs didnt assault me, but didnt bother to turn up on a late night booking from Gatwick one night - slamming the phone down when I called them up to ask where our wheelz was.theyse rubbish. Guest
I have to say, in all the times I have booked a taxi with Panther, I have never once had a problem. I was picked up from Heathrow twice, and both times the service was reliable and friendly. They also offer a much cheaper service than most of the firms I have been with before. I guess we all have different experiences, but I certainly wouldn't have anything other than praise for them.
