Neither. Get Ikea instead. The build quality is excellent, the design and engineering of things like hinges and drawer runners is brilliant, there are countless options for everything and it's cheaper. Loads of aftermarket door companies too, you can just buy the carcasses and get different doors (we just went with Noremax and were able to order completely custom sizes so we have 2.7m floor-to-ceiling doors for a bespoke look). I've built many kitchens and unless you have 100k for Poliform then Ikea is your best bet.

This. Some builders will huff and puff about Ikea but this is usually because Ikea are full depth whilst others have a 50cm or so gap behind for pipes/electric (which may mean more rerouting of utilities). Also check workshopexpress for the worktop itself.

My pals had a disaster with Wren - ended up having to take them to court. Measurements wrong (or measurements right and cutting wrong - can't remember which). Replacement items took months to prepare. No contractors available when replacement items arrived resulting in another month wait. Things done in the wrong order (e.g. units and oven installed before wiring work behind units completed). Fitting contractors wouldn't come back to uninstall the units as they'd done their job. Electrician contractors refusing the remove the oven (not my job guv). Wren saying contractors were at fault when they were supposed to be project managing. And so on...... They were without a kitchen for 9 months and now they hate it, partly as it isn't up to the standard they'd expected, and partly as it reminds them of the stress they endured.

    • The EDT and BBC dilemmas feel like they could be solved by raising them politely with the managers, and the managers being sensible in response. No need for us all to have slanging matches online and calling each other names. We're all each other's neighbours...
    • From the rip out to the installation and snagging, John was incredibly professional, considerate and professional with brilliant attention to detail. He is clearly very knowledgeable, and was able to offer suggestions and make tweaks with ease when my odd Victorian building threw us curveballs.  Gabi provides an incredible level of support and reassurance, replying promptly to all queries and concerns. As a team they are incredibly well organised, and both dates and costs are clear. John has a great relationship with Howdens, securing me a great discount on the kitchen, and sorting any issues that arose quickly and calmly. After dealing with a number of aggressive workmen who overcharged me and turned up as and when they wanted, John and his team were an absolute breath of fresh air; friendly, courteous, hardworking and reliable.  I would wholeheartedly recommend Top Marx to anyone looking to have a new kitchen installed, I truly could not be more thrilled with the results!

    • Hello lovely people, In need of some help please… My landlord has rented a property to me without an EPC.. my understanding is that is illegal. Have asked several times, in last three months and still not forthcoming. Have asked again plus now leaving at the end of the month & ignoring me totally - even to take meter readings & hand keys back!!! I really don’t want to go to court either but not sure as it is a private let whether I can go for mediation. Deposit was lodged via under govt scheme - 60 days later but at least lodged. No inventory on signing either so, not going to pay for anything either.. Could I bring in local councillor? For advice? Thanks and have a good weekend.
