FFS.

You bought something. It wasn't described as faulty - presumably. When you got it home you found it was faulty.

Is that it?

Did you ask to see it working before you bought it? Do you know how to use it?

When you found it was faulty, did you take it up with the person who sold it to you and ask for your money back?

If so, what did they say? Did they refuse? Or what?

Why are you posting about it on here? What is anybody else supposed to do about it?

Tallulah, :)) :)) :))

I bought this tessimo coffee machine of the forum it was advertised has hardly used. I was interested and wrote to the person when can I come to collect it she wrote back oh I can deliver it to you the machine did not looked like it was hardly used

.so then I couldn't see the machine working I have wrote to her three times but no answer I payed ?30 for it that is not a small amount of money now adays

This is one of the most bizarre threads I have ever read, and that's saying something :))

You bought something that was advertised as "hardly used". When you saw it it did not look "hardly used", but you still went ahead and bought it. Did you not question its condition and actual amount of use?

And you paid ?30 for it even though you knew it had been advertised on here for ?20.

Does something not strike you as not quite right about all that?

First thing I wrote she advertised it in July for ?20 which I saw after I bought the machine and it was in a box and she was in a hurry to take the money and run I didn't get a chance to look she said she had her kids in the car and I don't know why people think it funny there is honest people out there

What exactly is the fault with the machine? I mean, when you tried to use it, what happened? Maybe there's something relatively simple on it that could be repaired?

I can think of quite a few fairly simple things that can go wrong with these machines. You could probably get some decent advice from Forumites on how to repair it.

So it still sucks if you feel you were cheated on the deal, but at least if you got it cleaned and working you could use it.

    • Thanks…..still convinced I can get my rent back - not vindictive person but no one treats me this way & gets away with it. Will teach them a good lesson if they get a fine - well two really - much rater have rent back. Yes, will be taking pix - already have one for mould in bedroom - now removed.
    • Take your own meter readings and properly document the condition of the property when you leave. The LL won’t have a case to claim against your deposit without a sign in inventory. Not having an EPC is largely irrelevant- if you report him he might get a fine but you are unlikely to get compensation.
    • Thank you both. Inexperience Landlord trying to save  a few pennies - hence no agent involved. The issue is the fact that it is my understanding that without an EPC that is current then they should not have rented the property - far  more to the point and taken rent from me. They commissioned an EPC 4 weeks & I am still waiting for or a copy!!! No gas in property. Well I guess it will be a case of instructing solicitors which I have tried to avoid doing but as they are not responding at all, I have no choice. If I am correct about EPC then it will cost them alot more than refunding me my rent.
    • Went there a couple of weeks ago and had their set lunch menu - very good value and generous portions. Sea bream was delicious .
