luciam
I'm about to book our camping (mobile home) holiday in France. Does anyone have any views on which of these two companies is better? Thanks v much Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/28865-eurocamp-or-keycamp/ Share on other sites
cynthia80
Eurocamp and keycamp are actually the same company, they even share children's clubs! In general, eurocamp prices are a little higher but in general they also seem to get better (as in slightly bigger, better sun/shade mix) pitches than keycamp and their mobile homes are a bit nicer. Cleanliness wise it all seems to depend on the individual couriers at the site. Have you also tried canvas? They were the original camping company and are still separate from eurocamp. We used the tumble tots classes provided by eurocamp/keycamp when we went which were good fun and free. There aren't any unsupervised activities or cr?che facilities for under 5's though. You always seem to spend much for time outside on a campsite than in a gite which ours always love. luciam
Thanks, that's really helpful. Eurocamp is slightly cheaper than Keycamp for the holiday we're looking at so we'll probably go with them, although I will look at Canvas too. catgirl
Booking direct with campsite is even cheaper and usually better accommodation again, especially on larger sites or chains like castels. Does mean you can't access the kids clubs if that's important to you although lots of the campsites have their own. Also a few other peculiarities to Engkish preferences like a coffee machine but no kettle. During summer hols we've found booking direct to be about 2/3 of the price for much larger/ higher spec accommodation. luciam
Thanks for this. I did think of booking direct but the website wasn't very user-friendly. Could definitely live without a kettle if it would save me some cash! CJ_Scott
I'm not sure where you're planning to go but we've booked with smaller firm Matthew's Holidays. Often in the same French camp sites as euro/key camp and had lots of wonderful family holidays with them years ago.
