bonacara
Looking for dinosaur cake mould to borrow - anybody out there who could lend me one towards the end of the month, in exchange for a nice bottle of red? Thanks. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/28838-looking-for-dinosaur-cake-mould-to-borrow-anybody-out-there/ Share on other sites
LoopyMum
Hi,If you don't have any luck finding a dinosaur mould you can either find a good image on the computer, make a templatethen cut round the template after bakinga rectangle cake. You could make cake popswith the cut offs.Easier still- I regularly make small templatesthen cut round sugarpaste to make animalsand characters. See example in the attachedpicture of a Peppa Pig I made for my friendslittle one.Good luck !! LoopyMum
Thanks. A 3D cake would be fab too !!Could stick an ice fountain in the dinosaursmouth to imitate fire. Go for it. x Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/28838-looking-for-dinosaur-cake-mould-to-borrow-anybody-out-there/#findComment-613935 Share on other sites

melbourne groover
I was going to try this :http://www.bettycrocker.com/recipes/rex-the-dinosaur-cake/3134d1ed-d6a5-4cd9-9689-44868901548aThere is a template to print out also and a YouTube video. I don't think you need to use Betty Crocker cake mix... I was contemplating just buying sponges from the supermarket to cut out! bonacara
this is all great, thanks everyone, I think these are way better than a caketin one anyway, cant wait to get creative with icing, colours and chocolate buttons! nunheadmum
Those Dinopit ones are something else!!! Look more like film extras than cake.Try Googling dinosaur cakes for ideas - there's usually lots of photos to get ideas from and folk saying how they did theirs. More Betty Crocker style than Dinopit usually.Another option too is that I understand you can always get cake toppers which are pictures printed on icing that you can put on a normal cake. All depends how much effort you want to put in.
