Guest
Can anyone recommend a good place to get an Audi (A3) serviced for a reasonable price in SE22 or close by?Turners quoted ?200 for a service which is great but unfortunately they said they don't change the transmission oil as it needs to be done in a special dust free environment.Audi Dulwich is charging ?400 for a service and ?300 for changing the transmission oil! Lowlander
Do you need to change the transmission oil? Never head of that for any car less than 10 years old (or over 100k, used for towing, driven in the desert...)Even then most manufacturers have "sealed for life" transmission.... jimmyraj
They shouldn't be charging ?400 for a service. Challenge them on that - ref their fixed price service list - http://www.audi.co.uk/owners-area/servicing-with-audi/affordable-servicing.htmlYou have to watch them - I've twice had them try to quote higher prices than what they state on that site and only relented when I challenged them on it. Guest
@Lowlander - they say it should be changed every 40,000 miles (http://www.audi.co.uk/owners-area/maintaining-your-audi/regular-maintenance.html)@jimmyraj - thanks for the link. I didn't realise they had fixed prices. Each Audi centre I rang gave different prices Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/28691-audi-servicing/#findComment-612981 Share on other sites
jimmyraj
Yeah they all try it on - probably because some Audi drivers don't bat an eyelid or check prices. Worth challenging them though Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/28691-audi-servicing/#findComment-612983 Share on other sites
hannahmc
Hello there, haven't used him yet but I've just booked my Audi A2 into Andrew Brock in east dulwich. He's estimated a full service for approx 170 + vat. I'd posted a question about this about a week ago and several people recommended this garage. Guest
Thanks for the info!I got referred to Wavertree Automatics by the guys at Turners - They have the facility to service the DSG transmission in the Audi. I rang Andrew Brock and he said he couldn't do a major service if it included the transmission servicing. Nice and honest guy though.Wavertree charges ?90 for the major service plus parts. Probably come to ?150 - ?200. They then charge ?180 for the transmission servicing.
