The Big Calm Retreats in Kefalonia. This year; Reasons for & against

I have been waiting a long time to write this. Waiting for other people. Choices & decisions to be made , all the choices & decisions of others! But last week I flew out to Kefalonia & on arrival & through this week I decided I would let people know what I found to enable others to make their own concious choices & decisions instead of waiting for uninformed advice we seem to be being given at the moment.

To book a flight ( very cheap at the moment ?95) you need to fill in a PLF Passenger Locator Form giving details of where you will be staying . You will need a private covid test, sadly & I do t know why, an NHS test is not acceptable!

You will need to get this test 24 hours before departure at the overpriced cost in my opinion of around ?125. ? 20 in Greece And your passport.

There are loads of people at Gatwick to help you & the main thing to remember is, every person on that flight has been tested & checked for being tested. The plane has been cleaned & disinfected , leaving this probably one of the safest areas of public environment on the planet!

On arrival , your paperwork is checked , your holiday agent will let you know any covid rules in place ; face masks in shops & public spaces at the moment.

At the last check there was 1 ONE case of virus on the island, he is in hospital. Covid is very rare on the Greek islands & there is no reason not to travel here unless you have serious underlying health issues. It is far safer here than in the UK, with guaranteed vitamin ?D? from all the sunshine creating a truly beautiful environment; healthy food , lovely people. All of which creates a healthy immune system, vital in these times of covid .

The reason for telling you this is, we run Beautiful holistic retreats out here. A retreat is to take you out of your habitual environment to the beauty of nature & Calm , take a look at your life & see if there are any improvements you can make to the quality of your life, to your choices , your habits, your health, your mind, your nutrition, your life balance & most of all your HAPPINESS.

Within this beautiful environment, I teach a sublimely easy meditation allowing you to become the observer of your thoughts rather than the participant , enabling you to make concious choices rather than unconscious ones from your sub concious which frees you from your fears & allowing you to do the things that make you happy. We all have skills & & talents we would love to be doing, but for some reason , we don?t get round to them.

This has been of period of reinforcing our relationships or questioning them. Here, you have time to enjoy them , make them work or let go with love & understanding

Elina teaches the most sublime yoga I have ever been taught. She teaches a selection of practices including Yin yoga based on the principles of traditional Hatha yoga producing harmony in body & mind. She is also a long term practitioner of sound healing & AbunDance bringing healing at a cellular level & allowing the body to perform at its highest level when tuning out from all outside influences. These are practiced at the accommodation, in the mountains & on the beaches

I have type 2 diabetes, but here in Kefalonia. I don?t have diabetes!! The Mediterranean diet, the sunshine, fresh air & nature all contribute to a happier healthier life. We offer nutritional advice, but I think it is the island that teaches us

I don?t know who or how these things are worked out, but Kefalonia is classified as the 4th most beautiful island in the world. It certainly has an extraordinary energy which brings many of us back time & time again , myself included. Now it feels like home everytime I come back . It gives you the feeling to let go & know everything will be alright when you come back to whatever it was you were doing before. Some of the beauty , the nature & pure essence of this place can only be Greek filling you with a deep knowing & blissful happiness

We love the photogenic beaches known to many, but after many years of exploring farm tracks & walks we will take you to exquisite little out of the way beaches for fire circles & relaxation surrounded by natural besuty , mountain spring waters & mud!! I?ll explain when you get here :)))

We offer a lovely selection of extras; Sailing , island tours, inter personal highly confidential counselling, nutrition, Reiki, & massage .

I have found the most beautiful accommodation overlooking the the seaside village of Lourdas with extraordinary comfortable & beautiful rooms, a huge pool , yoga deck, breakfast pergola , views over the bay & a little chill out area . Perfect

In accord with our ethos , we will be offering a couple of places per Retreat to carers , nurses & those unable to afford a retreat , but in need of one . This will be done anonymously . You are welcome to make a contribution to this offer.
