How worried should I be? I?ve just had an alert on the track and trace app saying someone at a venue I?ve recently been in has tested positive for Covid and it?s sent me into quite a panic - yay hypochondria?!!!

The only places I?ve been recently and checked into on the app are work, a pub and the theatre and at least with the latter two we were well away from other people and wearing a mask and regularly using hand sanitizer. It?s been five days since my birthday and I have no symptoms. Weird thing is my parents have checked into all three locations recently too and never got any notification on the app like I did.

Help!!! :(

Are you asking if you should ignore the alert ?

Did it tell you to self isolate? If so you need to read this https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/self-isolation-and-treatment/if-youre-told-to-self-isolate-by-nhs-test-and-trace-or-the-covid-19-app/

Only you can decide if you follow the advice or not, however if you have been exposed and are asymptomatic then how will you feel if you infect others?

Ultimately your choice but as you downloaded the app then you are already demonstrating your responsibility and I suspect you will do the right thing if asked.

It said I didn?t have to self isolate, and I can provide a screenshot of the ?alert? I got if anyone else wants to get antsy about that. Not what I was asking at all. In fact, the question in my first sentence is ?How worried should I be?? considering I got the alert but neither my mum or dad did despite them being with me when I visited said venues.

I have a test being delivered to me either today or tomorrow so I guess time will tell.

Ronnie I had headache and feelings of a cold

no coughing but, I had been with my family a day before my symptoms.

I had the test at Ryelane test centre

at the council buildings, Bournemouth rd

took 5 mins test, half hour later all clear results

if you have doubts, have test, its no drama

You probably haven't got it

but for just 5 minutes you will have peace of mind

    • Labour was right not to increase fuel duty - it's not just motorists it affects, but goods transport. Fuel goes up, inflation goes up. Inflation will go up now anyway, and growth will stagnate, because businesses will pass the employee NIC hikes onto customers.  I think farms should be exempt from the 20% IHT. I don't know any rich famers, only ones who work their fingers to the bone. But it's in their blood and taking that, often multi-generation, legacy out of the family is heart-breaking. Many work to such low yields, and yet they'll often still bring a lamb to the vet, even if the fees are more than the lamb's life (or death) is worth. Food security should be made a top priority in this country. And, even tho the tax is only for farms over £1m, that's probably not much when you add it all up. I think every incentive should be given to young people who want to take up the mantle.
