mooncake
Hi,We've been offered a place at the Mother Goose Greendale nursery but I'm a bit worried about the distance from ED / Denmark Hill stations. Just wondering if there are some shortcuts / bus routes I don't know about? I don't know the area well and would ideally want to drive & park somewhere for the day and commute from there.. Equally I have no idea if there is actually anywhere reasonable to park!! Any help you can offer would be much appreciated - she's with another provider at the moment but we really want to move her ASAP as its not doing too well. Thanks in advance! hellosailor
Mother Goose Greendale is only about 5 mins walk from ED station, you cut through by Sainsbury's car park. jkb
Hi - my children went to that nursery for a couple of years and I used denmark hill station - takes 5 mins to walk there. I used to park outside the nursery and walk up Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/28538-commuting-from-greendale/#findComment-611871 Share on other sites
Vik
Turn left out of the nursery and walk down Greendale, take a left along the footpath between the sports fields and it pretty much takes you all the way to ED station in 5mins. Parking near the nursery's not usually a problem. Bonfire2010
We're at Greendale Mother Goose. Takes me 10 mins walk to Denmark Hill/ED (I do have short legs though) or it's a few mins in the car. I get the 8.26 and am at my desk (near City Thameslink) for 9am (odd train delays permitting of course). mooncake
That seems pretty reassuring. Thanks so much for the tips. It seemed like a long walk when I visited but then I had no idea where I was going!!The nursery manager seemed to be saying there wasn't much parking available around? I'm planning to test out my route from work tonight by public transport and see how long it takes! KatDew
I have kids there, as people have said both stations are quite walkable 5-10 mins at the most so not far. You can't always park right outside the nursery (especially at the moment as there is building work next door) but the road down from champion hill there is usually parking.I've been using the nursery for the last 4 years and have been very happy with it.
