Peckhamgatecrasher
Did the cat definitely have a collar? I have a ginger cat in this area, he's chipped but no collar. halicon
Sorry I couldn't tell. I hope its not yours but I don't think anyone would have moved it if it wasnt their cat. nuttynat19
Council probably have removed him/her, they have to do this unfortunately. If someone was worried it was their cat you can normally call the council office and check, my brother had to do this when his cat went missing and they confirmed they had collected a dead cat from the road near his the day before. Its unfortunate but I guess they have to do it to stop foxes etc from eating it. Very sad as I'm a bit cat fan! KidKruger
Bit harsh to take food away from the foxes, at least it would stop them tipping our bins over. Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/2846-re-cat-thread/#findComment-87936 Share on other sites
Peckhamgatecrasher
Thanks Keef. Unfortunately it is his wont to stay away for days at a time, so I really can't tell at the moment. We did go up and down the road and peered in the bins last night but couldn't find anything. Thanks for the tip Nutty, I will do that. Peckhamgatecrasher
I've called the Council and they've been as helpful as possible, but apparently when a cat is picked up it is bagged and then becomes hazardous waste. It's put in the freezer until incineration day. They are not allowed to reopen the bag so I can't go in and identify it and they don't have the facility to read chips. They are trying to get more information from the street operative concerned, and will ring me back. Peckham native
I understand the family that live in the house right at the end of Ondine Road (front door in Ondine but windows in Adys) helped dispose of the cat. So PGC you might want to give them a knock if your cat hasn't turned up yet. Moos
Really sorry, PGC. Poor you, and poor cat. By the way, the house that Peckham native is talking about is 3 flats, so you might have to ask around a little bit.
