Disabled friendly

Hi - a member of my family is profoundly disabled and I am looking for somewhere locally that we could take them for a meal or drink. The main need is a really great disabled loo (easier said than done), lots of space, ramps etc. We have found that so many places that say they accommodate wheelchairs are actually tricky to manage. We've been to some that have steps (?), really grim toilets and doors so narrow that you can't get a wheelchair through. Any thoughts would be really welcome.

Franklins has a ramp into the restaurant and a loo that can be accessed from the restaurant on one level but the space itself inside the loo is very tight. They are lovely in there though and very keen to help which makes all the difference. I too would be keen for anymore local suggestions as we are also in the same position.
The Alleynes Head has good access to their Restaraunt section where the disabled loo is. The food is reasonably priced and a reasonable standard. Beer and wine is probably cheapest in Dulwich. Been there a few times recently for Sunday Lunch with a disabled person. Very attentive and freindly staff for my disabled Mother in Law.

The Dish and the Spoon is nice but no accessible toilet unfortunately!

The Gardens has lots of space and a good, large toilet, haven't eaten in there for a while but do Sunday roasts still I think.

Our daughter uses an electric wheelchair, we find so many places have the ramps and loos but are not spacious enough inside to actually move around!

Thank you so much for all the replies. jcw101 - I couldn't agree with you more about the lack of spacious loos! We need to transfer him from the wheelchair on to the loo which takes 2 people, so the cubicle needs to be massive. Rarely have we found anywhere suitable and it becomes so stressful to try and make it work.

I will definitely look up the Disabled London info.
