nubby'smums
My son has expressed an interest in ballet. I took him along to a class at his school but it was all girls (in pink) and he wasn't keen. He's since said he wants to go again. Anyone know of any classes locally that have boys in them already for this age group? WorkingMummy
My daughter (4) takes a class with one boy and about 6 or 7 other girls at St Faith's, Red Post Hill on Thursdays. There is a LOT of pink around, even for my tastes TBH, but the little boy wears a very smart black and white outfit. Mrs TP
Fiona Foster ballet teacher does classes at Push Studios off Lordship Lane on Mons and Weds. Mainly girls but a smattering of boys, whom she actively encourages. One boy yesterday around 3yrs old did a class in his superhero costume. Fiona is very relaxed on outfits. I think most little girls do it because they want to prance around in pink but if you see the older classes and the girls who have stuck it out there is not much pink in sight. nubby'smums
Thanks very much for the suggestions. My son seems to have decided he wants to dance in a suit! I think its because our neighbour plays the mad hatter in Shrek the musical at the mo. Will def look into those classes. BellendenBear
Theatre Peckham have ballet classes and musical theatre classes for 3 and above on Saturday mornings. My daughter does the musical theatre but there seem to be boys in the ballet classes too. They all wear red and black. No pink in sight.
