What's wrong with that? Tickets I've been seeking are for my son who loves football and "inherited" his fandom of Arsenal from his grandfather who's been following them since 1932, so between them they've clocked up 80+ years of support. (I don't "get" football but do watch now I have an active supporter / player who can explain the offside [and other] rules to me - tho' today's offside decision against Arsenal in the game was clearly wrong!!)

I think you'll find there are more glorying hunting plastic Man Ure and Lokomotiv Fulham fans in ED than loyal gooners, who, like me, originally come from North London and have been going to home and away games since 1968. Interesting how many blue Chavski shirts suddenly flooded the streets after they bought the title two years on the trot.

my affiliation with the Arse started as a wee boy in Ireland when Arsenal had 6 outfield Irish players and an Irish manager

the fact that they are of south London origin and I live in south London now is merely a footnote.

The fact that they are by far (on their day) the most entertaining football team known to man is a joy

Further to PGC's reminder that Arsenal are a south London team - it reminds me that my great grandfather moved from Birmingham to work at Woolwich Arsenal. He was noted in the 1867 census in Brum as a "Gun Barrel Grinder" and was presumably an Arsenal football supporter too, giving my son's enthusiasm for them even more legitimacy - despite being born in Barnstaple.

i know, I know, I never met an Arsenal fan who hasn't a decent reason

a) i'm in the artillery

b) they're a south London club (*snigges) and I live here

c) they're a north London club and i wish i could live in islington really

d) they're Melvin Bragg's club and I'm a bif fan of the Southbank show...........

yeh all them thrilling late equalisers is just fantastic. c,mon utd.

I notice it took the fake ronaldo 5 goes to get a goal on saturday, because he is such a lethal finisher. But be fair, Man Ure were playing the might Derby!!!! I also notice Fergusmoan has still not had the grace to apologise for his apoplectic outburst following the Pompey game. No surprise there then.

Edited because of rubbish spelling

Why did I just know you would stick your oar in!!!I stand by what I said, so what's your response to that? Fergusmoan thinks he is above apologising the FA and probably god almighty. Odious man.

I'm sure most scousers are full of nothing but admiration for Fergusmoan, yet seem to have a problem when somebody other than them says anything about him. We do live in a funny old world. I'm sure he'll have some choice words of wisdom ahead of the game with yourselves at the weekend.
