For anyone looking for an electrician, I can highly recommend Collin Smith (CGS Electrical installations), as recommended by others on the Forum in the past.

Collin recently installed down-lighters in our hallway as well as moving/installing two other ceiling light fittings. Collin was very helpful in coming to assess the job first before quoting and also organising a plasterer/decorator to make good the ceiling as soon as the wiring was all done. The pricing for the work was entirely in line with expectations, and Collin was reliable, professional and very efficient.

Collin can be contacted on 07956 215163 or [email protected]

Highly recommended! I'm happy to take any follow-up enquiries by phone if that would be helpful (private message me here if so).

I'd also like to add a recommendation for Collin Smith. I also found him on this forum and echo the many previous positive comments.

He did the big job of a complete flat rewiring for me and providing EICR certification. He was honest, reliable and professional. I'd use him again in the future.

Collin to the rescue.

I'd also like to recommend Collin Smith. I discovered him on this forum and found him to be professional, punctually and resonably priced. I called him yesterday and he arrived this morning at 8am to sort the problem...brilliant service, thank you Collin.

Hi all,

just wanted to add another recommendation for Collin Smith here, I actually found him here originally. He's just done an electrical safety survey for a house I'm buying, and despite the seller forwarding a certificate, Collin picked up some faults that had been missed and saved me quite a bit of money. He's brilliant, responsive, on time and I trust him completely to do a good job. His number is 07956 215163

    • Getting the message "Windows will restart automatically" suggests that the probably was that a Windows update was involved. There was one about 2 weeks ago and another 3 days ago. At the initial stages of installing the downloaded update, the screen does go entirely blank for a short period. Could you have possibly switched it off and back again when it had such a blank screen? Having now got the message "Windows will restart automatically", you do appear to be making progress so I suggest you switch it back on and leave it uninterrupted like that for at least one hour. There is a good chance that if the update was in the early stages of installing the update, it will attempt to revert the install and then attempt the installation afresh.  You have nothing to loose by letting it run for an hour. If nothing changes after then, try and do a "Safe Mode" restart.
