Saffron
I thought the norovirus outbreak was pretty awful but... If you have friends or relatives in the States, you'll already know they're having a terrible flu season. Even previously healthy adults and children can be made seriously ill by influenza. I thought this link was interesting, giving good concise advise on when to seek emergency medical attention for flu (though you could apply this to many other types of illness too). (For those unfamiliar, acetaminophen is the US name for paracetamol, and 104 F = 40 C.) http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/50500398/ns/health-cold_and_flu/ Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/28167-flu-when-to-seek-medical-treatment/ Share on other sites
buggie
Very concise, would say that several of the "Call a Doctor" points could easily be "Go to ED" esp being under 3mths with a high fever & retractions (recession in the UK!). Do regular Dr's in the USA have immediate means to do XR's/blood tests? Wonder if this is why they suggest attending with more sever sympotoms than I would.
