Been at work since early this morning and can't believe the number of conversations I've had today already with clients, mortgage adviser and basically anyone saying "not sure we'll be around later this morning/afternoon, given the weather". Most live within Zones 1-4.

It's not like we're trekking to get to the artic circle is it? Yes we'd all like to bunk off early on a Friday but....

grrrrr.

This is soft Southern snow, and you lot a load of soft Southern Jessies

When I was a kid North of Watford Juntion we had proper hard snow. And no one batted an eyelid.

Nice cycle ride home tonight, a little earlier than normal (everyone else buggered off), as there was so little traffic on the road at 6pm.

Well, I can't help thinking we've gone a bit soft. The snow in Jan 2009 was a shock as London hadn't seen any for 15 years but it's been a regular fixture every year since. This weekends snowfall was predicted over a week ago and we're well prepared but it shouldn't stop central Londoner's getting to work. I'm sure we didn't all head to the pub in the 50's, 60's or 70's when some snow fell but correct me if I'm wrong....

Southern trains are running on time this eve from Honor Oak/Forest Hill which is a decent indicator for Dulwich stations tomorrow. A reduced timetable is in place but there's still a decent frequency due to run.

If they are screwed then I plan to walk it and or and bus again from Camberwell (if buses can't get over the hill).

No 63 and 363 don't seem to have the same amount of problems in the snow, nor does the 12, might be easier than walking to where you can pick up a bus in Camberwill (I know 63/363 got to Elephant not Camberwell but wasn't sure which direction you go from Camberwell)

I went to the pub in 1982 when the site was shut, but mind you that was real tough outside London snow

And in 1990, when they closed public transport down (damm me for cycling) and we all got sent home after lunch (well the 15% of us who were in). Home = the pub

And again in 2009 when exactly the same thing happened. But that was a bloody good dump if you get my drift. It was a shame I used the mountain bike as I shouldn'tt have bothered getting in as I could have gone sledging with the kids

Going to work by road bike tomorrow as it is not bad enough to get old tractor tyres bike out of the shed. Only bad thing is all the crap off the road makes you filthy.

Very pretty though.
