If these people are identified, personally, I will consider laying an information for a private prosecution - in the event the Police decided not to do anything. They need to learn that this sort of intimidation is not acceptable.

Agreed - I suspect that would probably be the (mostly silent) majority's view too. If I possessed the skills of Chuck Norris that would certainly be my plan A. Sadly I don't, so giving 3 of them a slap is probably out of the question.

The fact that there are 3 of them makes their behaviour all the more intimidating though - which they no doubt know.

Sadly the state of our criminal justice system makes it difficult to undertake court proceedings even if there is reasonable evidence of guilt.

This naturally makes the Police reluctant to undertake investigations such as witness gathering or other evidence gathering. It's just not logical for them from a cost-benefit perspective. Even if you act as a private detective and get evidence yourself, they can be reluctant and can recommend citizens undertake private prosecutions (which are obviously not an option outside the wealthy).

This is a really great summary of why:

Sorry to hear about this.

This afternoon I was shoved quite violently by two teenagers as I walked home from Sainsbury's (on the public path leading to Monclar Road). I yelled at them and walked away but they then ran after me shouting so I started to run too. They gave up quite quickly. Reported the crime to the police but annoyingly I didn't get a good look at their school uniform!

Obviously idiotic 14-15 year olds who think it's funny to intimidate women...

Has anyone else experienced this?

    • In fact there was a promotional leaflet came through the letter box today, for sending by RM's parcel post by buying online.  There are also options mentioned for having the labels printed  at a Collect+ store or at a Parcel Locker.  More info at https://www.royalmail.com/.
    • Is it? Let's see  Farming is a tough gig with increasingly lower returns, if farms have to sell off land to pay inheritance tax it will reduce their ability to survive. Which in real terms could mean more farm land lost and more reliance on imported food which sees money flowing out, not in to the country.  But I guess as long as you get cheap food that doesn't concern you 😉  Lol "what about the cars"  again Mal... like a broken record....  Governments know that squeezing car drivers for more fuel duty will drive down income from taxes as people switch to electric, which would leave them with a black hole in income. Guess the fuel duty is a fine balancing act tiĺl enough electric cars have been sold to raise tax revenue from their use.
    • Hello - if anyone is in need of sofa/rug/carpet cleaning, we have recently had a very good experience with husband and wife team Kate and Vlad. They're a very reasonable cost and the result was great (don't look too closely at the colour of the water that comes out!) Kate's number is 07731 140246
