Need a fully working 90's/early 2000's camcorder player for my Video8/8mm tapes.

Pics of what i mean at the bottom post

Had a very kind person here with a machine but this is not working as well unfortunately, so I'm still on the look-out for Digital8/Video8/8mm tape as my machine like many others has died! Please note VHSc or DV machines are not compatible with Video 8ect...

I'm also going to do other people tapes to PC as I got very good high quality transfers with converters and upscalers with Premier Pro software doing the final polishing, so I'm happy to buy a fully working old camcorder as well, the digital ones will be more beneficial as well.

Thanks for helping. Thanks everyone who's tried to help me so far!!

Hi Brendan, thanks for replying, I'd only need 7 days to do them in to transfer to my pc, so I can do 1-2 per night after work and looking after kids ect.. Perhaps that's OK for you..thanks for offering...

Perhaps I can advise you or anyone testing old machines, to test the machine with a blank tape first, then one with recorded footage later if no problems occur, so if the tape fails to eject, you haven't damaged an already prerecorded tape.

Thanks every one.

Hi

I just tested and although it is working it does cut out intermittently whilst playing the tapes but I do remember when I plugged it into my tv a couple of years ago to check the old 8mm tapes I was able to watch them via that and then got the tapes put into digital form. I understand if you don't want to take the risk seeing you have already tried with another one.

All the best

Brendan

    • I would look in the surrounding area as once they realise it has nothing they could sell or of obvious monatary value in it they'll dump the bag and contents.

    • Trees, eh? I feel your pain, EDP, but I like the light provided by the pollarding. I'm interested in the gingko, tho.  I love a tree, me - Hillsboro Rd has lost about five over the last 20 years (2x lime, cherry, strawberry, and, er...). The council did take down about 5 ill original lime trees behind our house but then gave us Golden Rain trees. God, if only we had known what a PITA they are. The main problems are massive invasive surface roots which have buggered up my back fence and paving, plus thousands of vigorously self-seeding offspring every year, which I go around pulling up before they turn into trees. And the leaves are tough things, like horse chestnuts, so don't rot easily. I hate them.  Wish they could have been something native and attractive, like birch or something... council isn't interested in helping.  Ah, well.
