Thanks Counterlass22. I have since had a constructive meeting with my ward councillors, who after hearing the whole story have agreed to advocate on my behalf to have the decision reviewed. Obviously I can't say too much here, but it is a very positive first step and is in no small part due the the great response to my petition, so thanks again to everyone who has supported it..

Thank you.

It was a Kit. I did a fair bit of research and found Dunster Homes to offer the highest spec for your money.

I'm sure they have seen a rise in demand since covid hit as the base version of this was about ?1000 cheaper when I bought it 2 years ago. Set onto a gravel grid base which avoids the need for a concrete plinth or anything like that it goes up in a long day with another day to felt the roof, paint etc. https://dunsterhouse.co.uk/premiumplus-lantera-w4-5m-x-d3-5m

A studio perhaps?

Hi All. Yes Captured on the Rye is still trading. We have a purpose-built garden studio at my address in Barry Road where we are now hosting parties for up to 12 guests......."

Good luck keeping it.

You mentioned local councillors and MP.

Any of these can act as a "Designated Person" where Social Housing involved - arguably this would apply to you as Southwark freeholder - https://www.housing-ombudsman.org.uk/designated-persons/

My experience as a former Council was the threat of doing this was enough to get an officer to stand down from silliness (my view).

Specifically ask you Councillors and MP who is willing to be a "designated Person" for you. It will be telling who steps forward to help practically.

    • I've not posted any restaurant reviews here for a while, but with the long Easter weekend approaching I thought I'd serve an update. I recently reviewed The Palmerston and elsewhere became involved in a debate about the best pub lunch in SE22. So which ones do people here currently rate?  Yes I know people can just do a search for "Best pub lunch" but as well as new eateries popping up all the time two of the places I've reviewed – EDT and Bishop – have had a reboot since I reviewed them so I'm interested in hearing how they are doing now. FYI I'm still not charging people to read my reviews or subscribe (though they can pay if they are inclined) and I still haven't had any cease and desist letters from other food people who have used the word "Eats" in their name. And I put a lot of work into these reviews. They aren't just a couple of dashed off sentences saying what is good/bad. When not doing this for fun I'm a professional journalist. If people want to nitpick and be pedantic I'll just have to learn to live with it. https://eatsdulwich.substack.com/
    • Have there been any happy outcomes yet?  I was reminded of this thread by Kate Bradbury's two minute Tweet of the Day spot, on swifts and swift boxes, on Radio 4 recently.  She even plays their calls out of her window in the hope of attracting them.  https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0029yp8 Coincidentally, last week I came across a planning condition attached to the permission (24/AP/3592) granted to the old Melbourne Grove GP premises, that they install "no less than four bee bricks."  They're specifically for so-called solitary bees, who seem to be regarded as equally busy and deserving.  Kate B. mentioned that Brighton now attaches a similar condition, requiring swift boxes in all new-builds.  Might Southwark be doing so too?
