Anyone know anything about the household renovation rubbish dumped at top on North Cross road next to the cycle storage unit opposite the actress??

Can?t believe anyone would have that much front to fly tip in such a built up area but unfortunately looks like this is what?s happened.

Thought would just check before trying to report to the council/ police

Opposite the Actress, in Upland Rd, next to the Old Police Station, there's a silver Renault with a Southwark Council notice on it saying it was moved from another road to that position by them. It's now been there for weeks and the notice has faded so you can no longer read the road it was removed from. Presumably the owner either doesn't know it's there, or doesn't want it.

Yep, the cycle hangar has always been completely empty whenever I've walked past.

I don't think the council can put them up to the corner because they stick out too far. So they put them about 4/5ths of a car length away so there is no room for a car at the junction side, thus taking up almost three normal spaces.

Yes sad when builders and others, including private individuals, feel that it is fine to drive to a country road (or Camberwell old cemetery) and dump building waste, tyres and the like. I don't go with any of the argument that it is due to the cost/hassle of using local authority tips, including difficulties during Covid. I know of geezers and the like driving around with old vans, caged trucks and the like, offering services, which are totally ligit, so don't always go by looks! But if you are having cut price building or gardening work will be worth checking for your own sanity/sleeping at night that your trash wont end up in a verge.

I think some of you are being a bit miserly here. They are using a tiny bit of road that has no utility at all for anyone else to temporarily place items they are removing from their site. There is no space for a skip there and this is the most considerate way they could do their work.

They could be less considerate and just pile it against the wall each day while they wait for parking spot to come free so that they can load it into a van.

No problem with that whatsoever.. just initially looked like a load of dumped stuff ... as long as all rules are being complied with.. not sure I agree re the skip placement- ok maybe not a space directly outside the house so potentially they might need to walk a further 5 yards to get to it.. more likely to be cost saving exercise
It is a pretty colour of yellow on that house but a pity the landlord/owner won't paint over the scrawl. (I noticed that some of the vandalised shops in the area have had a clean up, which is good and hopefully will aid retail post lockdown, even if it's just a small contribution.)

    • In fact there was a promotional leaflet came through the letter box today, for sending by RM's parcel post by buying online.  There are also options mentioned for having the labels printed  at a Collect+ store or at a Parcel Locker.  More info at https://www.royalmail.com/.
    • Is it? Let's see  Farming is a tough gig with increasingly lower returns, if farms have to sell off land to pay inheritance tax it will reduce their ability to survive. Which in real terms could mean more farm land lost and more reliance on imported food which sees money flowing out, not in to the country.  But I guess as long as you get cheap food that doesn't concern you 😉  Lol "what about the cars"  again Mal... like a broken record....  Governments know that squeezing car drivers for more fuel duty will drive down income from taxes as people switch to electric, which would leave them with a black hole in income. Guess the fuel duty is a fine balancing act tiĺl enough electric cars have been sold to raise tax revenue from their use.
    • Hello - if anyone is in need of sofa/rug/carpet cleaning, we have recently had a very good experience with husband and wife team Kate and Vlad. They're a very reasonable cost and the result was great (don't look too closely at the colour of the water that comes out!) Kate's number is 07731 140246
    • You can buy your parcel postage (tracked or any other) online from Royal Mail, they will come to your address with the label and pick up your parcel, (no extra charge) alternatively, you can print your label at home and apply to your parcel for them to pick up from you also. The other option is to drop off your labelled parcel to the Royal Mail Delivery Office of your choice.
