He's back

"The embittered former commander in chief, however, was locked in his false but damaging alternative reality, to which millions of his followers subscribe, that he was the victim of a massive election fraud effort."

He's not going to go away while his grifting Big Lie makes him so much money, most of the dosh raised for 'legal funds' will have ended up in his own coffers. The GOP have enabled this and continue to do so. Maybe their thinking is that Trump eventually ends up in court (now looking very likely)and that's a way of getting rid of him but without alienating his base, but even if that happened they've pretty much become unelectable...

Yeah I read that Cruz and Hawley (for example) suspect that Trump is likely to be in jail eventually , so they are well placed, as his cheerleaders, to assume the leadership of this particular bunch of cranks.

Also read that True made $1.6 billion during his presidency. Not sure how though, or whether that includes the leisure properties (because he's meant to have detached himself from those operations).

Nope...

You are much less likely to contract the virus (and therefore pass it on) with either vaccine. But if you do still catch it, like you say, you are more resilient to it and the chances of hospitalisation are dramatically reduced.

You still need a vaccine even if you've had Covid. It is currently thought that the immune response after recovering from Covid is in the region of 8 months.

Sorry I carried out my own censorship today, a poster in the community notice board outside Sainsburys near the Plough. We have a right to decide about our own health. OK fair point. Coronavirus is less harmful than the flu, with a reference to the Daily Hate of all places. Not Nature or the Lancet but that beacon of truth the Mail (to be fair I've Googled and not found the article). Go and die of Covid by all means. But don't give it to me. It's not about protecting yourself, its about protecting me from you. You get it by taking risks, you kill me, manslaughter.

Just through it on the floor for others to read and hopefully walk over. Thanks for listening!

This is shocking Mal....I've lived in the area for 10 years...and that Sainsbury at the Plough is my local shop....I've never noticed a community notice board.....:)

I heard (an actual adult) say that the cotton wool on the end of the testing stick for COVID isn?t actually cotton wool, it?s nanobots that get into your blood stream and they?re there to track you through the phone lines.

It?s all there this news apparently, but when asked why this wasn?t on the general news they scoffed. ?They?re all in on it too?

So there you go, I?ve shared this valuable news with you, don?t say you weren?t told 🤪

This is your last chance.

After this, there is no turning back.

You take the blue pill?the story ends, you wake up in your bed and believe whatever you want to believe.

You take the red pill?you stay in Wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit hole goes.

Remember: all I'm offering is the truth. Nothing more.

I raise your cotton wool nanobots...

They should have cancelled him for not being remotely funny, which I thought is a prime requirement of a comedian. He, like that awful lot on the Last Leg, seem to think that shouting about how awful the tories are is somehow comedy gold. Beats me. Geoff Norcott, although not that funny himself, is the best bit of The Mash Report because he's not a 'progressive' lefty.

Totally agree on the Last Leg...I really liked the show when it was all about the Paralympics, and the interplay between the three hosts was funny.....this carried on in its early days as a standalone comedy show.....then slowly it morphed to just be largely unsophisticated, self-adulating, one-sided rants, masquerading as comedy. I dont mind a few jokes at the expense of either sides of politics, and hopefully most people can have a laugh about the stereotypes....but when it just becomes 'I've just ranted against something a tory minister did or said, please give me whoops and cheers' it was time to switch off.....

There's a reason why on these shows the audience now react with cheers and applause instead of actual laughter....

    • My understanding is the "free event" is 100% Gala, nothing to do with the council. Obviously Gala will still make money from the food & drink that they are trying to coerce punters into buying on their social media posts. Their costs will be negligible due to already having the infrastructure in place for Gala. So Gala are trying to appear community minded by providing this "free event", but the real goal is to set a precedent for a fourth day's festival - which surely no one could possibly object to?!? - in preparation for applying (again) for two three-day festivals spread over two weekends. It's only another two days, right, and the site & equipment is already there, so why would anyone object?!? More money for the council, much more money for Gala, win-win right? But yet another week of our park taken away from us, too, and another 18,000 people trampling & littering the park, and another week of disturbance for the native birds & wildlife...
    • Meson Don Felipe on The Cut was my go to place for many years. Though it's now many years since I was there. 10-15 minute walk from the Tate. If you go can you tell me what it's like nowadays?
    • Doubt you would have got much change out of £150.00 for battery and certainly having forked out for it, best to use your car. I recently sold  my car via webuyanycar.com - very pleasant experience & was roughly what I was expecting. Pop your bangers reg jnto their website to get an idea of price - they do send e mails once a fortnight/month just as an aid for you. Easy enough to delete - don’t even have to read valuation. They literally buy any car - if you can’t get it to them, they will charge you to get it there or recommend a co that will do it for you. Must say, mine was a 2014 reg and whilst a bit suspicious, paid extra to get money into my account as needed it for next car but was assured funds had I not gone down route I took would be in my account within 5 days. I now live in the country - every time I have been back to Dulwich and surrounding area, normally get a fine for driving at wrong time or parking at  wrong time so if I drive now, park in West or East Dulwich and do everything else by public transport and walking.  Were I still to be living in ED then before I left was pondering this very issue but since I have been back regularly for health reason I no longer drive but take the train and then buses, walk or Uber. Much cheaper than running a car and had I stayed, that would have been the course I would have taken. I don’t go out everyday, have an allotment or job to go to or family so in my case, would be cheaper not to have a car.  Was truely shocked   at the cost of second hand cars…..but where I now live only has a smattering of buses so no choice but to have wheels to get from A to B etc.
    • If you don't use the car often then suggest disconnect the battery between use by undoing the earth (negative / minus sign) cable from the battery and the battery will then last longer between use. Remember, central locking, alarm, clock, etc won't work with battery disconnected and wit ours I have to lock the doors with central locking before disconnecting battery as only have key on one door (leave bonnet open before locking doors). Hope this helps
