pommie
Our little one has just turned 10 months old and when she is standing up holding on to your legs, she has a habit of biting you. i dont remember this happening with our eldest so wondered if anyone could give me any tips on how to stop it or why she might be doing it. When she does it we do give her a stern NO and put her on the floor Link to comment https://www.eastdulwichforum.co.uk/topic/27664-10-month-old-biting/ Share on other sites
birnehelene
What you are doing is exactly the right thing to do. My daughter used to bite other children when she was just started to crawl and it stopped pretty quickly...http://www.incredibleyears.com/Resources/parents-toddlers-program_agendas-checklists-handouts.pdfPage 130 (see below)If your child bites or hits you:? Do your best to stay calm, even though the bite or hit may startle youand hurt? Use kind but firm limit setting ?no biting? and briefly put your childdown or move away just a foot or two? Tell your child that the biting hurt? Ignore child for 1?2 minutes? Redirect and reengage your child in a new activity, or provide her withwords to communicate the reason for the bite. Jo'sEnglish
Yes, my son did this about the same age but just grew out of it. I would do the same, just say 'No' and put him down. It was around the time lots of teeth were coming through so I would often give him a teether as well. He's 16 months now and hasn't done it for a few months so I think it was just a stage.
