As a childminder, it is usual to be paid bank holidays and so many weeks paid annual holiday (usually 4 weeks) throughout the year. The only time you won't pay is during anytime the childminder is sick.

Yes we are self employed but all holidays should be discussed during the contract signing period

There's no right or worng answer. A childminder is self-employed and you have contracted his/her services. It all depends on what the contract that you have together says. If you agreed to pay holiday and/or Bank Holidays then you have to pay.


Self-employed people don't have the same right to paid time off as employees and other workers.
