ianr
First try a search on something like "CD rom drawer not opening", and see if there's anything there you can try personally. (There is.)If all else fails, a replacement new basic CD/DVD drive can be had for less than ?15 + delivery, and working used ones for a lot less. right-clicking
Hello! Does the drive show in windows explorer-computer? try using the eject button (in Windows explorer), if not power down the pc and look at the drive itself, there should be a small hole, get a paper-clip and push it into that hole, this is a manual eject button. if that does not work it may be that the drive motor has gone, as suggested above is the way to go.
