I had my catalytic converter stolen yesterday , 4 men in a silver hatchback, it took about 5 mins to cut it out.

they ignored me shouting at them and were very threatening, I thought they were trying to take my wheels at first

as the car was jacked up front and rear.

the police said that this crime is increasing at the moment.

does anyone know a good place to get this repaired? it is an older BMW 11 years old !

That's awful. Sounds really similar to the below in Milton Keynes.

I'd think the effect on you after this would be closer to home invasion than theft. Really some sort of trauma help should be offered.

Thank you JohnL

It was very much like the ones on your link

and yes it was very traumatic.

The scrap metal trade has been cleaned up in recent years, but it is time that this trend with catalytic converters was stopped. Maybe each purchase by the legitimate dealers should registered with a car registration, full address and

photo of the seller. with heavy fines for defaulters.

somebody will eventually loose there life in one of these incidents, and may already have done so through stress.
