Here's a controversial idea

With a small proportion of the population saying they won't have the vaccine, should the NHS record their NHS number on a database and then refuse them treatment if they catch Covid ?

After all they don't believe Covid exists or think it's a government conspiracy so they won't catch it so won't need treatment 🤔

That's a case of education and reassurance but if they still refuse, unless for genuine medical reasons, then they should be deemed to have signed away the right to covid treatment

It's similar to the principle (but not the same as) the organ donor register now uses, unless you have specifically said not to use your organ's after death they can be ..

Don't worry Sparts, in a few weeks/months we may very well have people being turned-away from hospitals, due to over-capacity wards, though that may be across the board - not just the deniers :(

I endorse the sentiment Spartacus....particularly given these people endanger all of the rest of us.

But would it open the floodgates for..say..smokers to be denied treatment for lung cancer? Overweight people denied treatment for diabetes? Car owners denied treatment for car crash injuries? Tories denied treatment for fox hunting injuries?, Lib Dem's denied treatment for injuries sustained due to be being largely irrelevant? Brexiteers denied any treatment developed in the EU? Remainers denied treatment paid for by the last 350m per week of NHS funding....anyway, I may have got carried away..you get the gist.....

CNN went live to the Boris news conference today and gave a summary of where the UK is in terms of deaths and cases. They seem to be taking an interest in UK politics recently - maybe they're gaining UK based viewers.

The look on their faces as Boris said his stuff about having tried his best and done everything he could..

This is done already I'm sure to an extent - they use a quality of life algorithm to decide who will get the money and who won't. The below seems to have gone too far but it shows what happens.

Boris is a denier at heart. He would have let the virus run rip if he was allowed (or maybe it was the influence of his evil mate who is probably still skulking around).

This was the impression the CNN team gave to viewers when he said "I did everything I could" - the camera cut and they all looked at each other.

So it's a rant

Boris, as you remember, caught and went to hospital with covid so I think he hasn't denied it exists. He's made mistakes granted but so have governments around the world.

This thread is about people denying that covid exists by protesting, trying to convince others to break rules and potentially refusing vaccination.

If you want to be political please do it on one of the other political based threads.

I do follow the vaccination advice though and will go down to get it when I'm asked.

Imagine the scene, autumn 2021.

Many of the tens of thousands of people who refused to have a vaccine have ultimately caught Covid.

Coughing and spluttering away they could at first be forgiven for having an early seasonal cold, but the biometric 'Covid Star' tattooed onto the back of their hand is a give-away.

Not entitled to any medical treatment as part of the glorious leader's 'solution', they try and go about their daily business as normal, but their is no sanctuary.

Their homes are daubed with graffiti, and when they dare to venture outside, passers-by frown at them and cross the road, making sure to avoid eye contact.

Some hurl insults, reminding them that it's only a matter of time before they are rounded up and sent to the 'holding-camps', that only 6 months earlier had been re-education facilities, in the vain hope that they could be convinced to have the vaccine.

At least this way the public don't have to witness as their condition worsens, doctors and nurses won't have to wrestle with their conscience when some manage to break through a hospital's security cordon, banging on windows in a vain attempt to get help.

No one has to worry about a sick relative, friend, or neighbour. Or seeing someone suffering a slow, painful death, and having to witness their last dying gasps of breath.

After all, they had it coming to them...

Whilst you painted a very stark picture like that, if they refuse the vaccine and deny covid exists then why are they allowed to waste valuable NHS resources if they do catch it ? After all , in their minds, it's not going to kill them or anything ?

Sadly the truth is people will refuse the vaccine, the virus will be transmitted by them and as a result it will fund ways to mutate and infect the vaccinated resulting in this pandemic going on and on and on. So whilst you were trying to paint a dystopian future there is a question of how to make the vaccine deniers take it to protect the masses , should it be deny them covid treatment, should it be peer pressure (much like the campaigns in the past to make us wear seat belts or reduce drink driving )

The issue (and whilst I was being controversial with my post) is how to ensure everyone is protected and the virus can't get a foothold and mutate enough to make the vaccine invalid.

Maybe something to discuss rather then trying to paint me and others as part of the new order 🤔

In their minds no, in reality yes it can kill them. We allow free speech and free views, no matter how crazy. This is the price we pay for those privileges, sometimes people spout next-level BS.
